Gone, Back and Gone Again

A Sling Shot Life.

Fourth spent at Table Rock and Rockin' B with Grand Patriarch and Grand Matriarch. Headline-"Octagarians run on energizer batteries. Son's battery must of been type X and conked out. " Like HMIQ , I and Brokerbelle be ZONKED. Since April, we have been to Tex. 3x and done one wedding and one funeral as a defrocked Bapt. layminister turned Methodist and attorney (and of course, that is the equivalent of going over to the Dark Side).

After the day in the office, we are off to KC to Aldersgate where hopefully we will see both peace and God move. While there we will throw in a visit to the Emerald Prince in the Emerald Palace. We will be taking a gazillion quarters so that we can play the slots at the Palace and perhaps win some sandwiches and pop-corn, perhaps even purchase a real Big AZ Burger that is oh so delicious when warmed up. (I think I am nauseous now).

At any rate, we had a great 4th and saw fireworks from the Chateau and then fireworks from Big Cedar while riding the Branson Belle. Also boated down the White River with the Grand Patriarch and Grandmatriarch who still rule and saw herons and beautiful bluffs. Went to an auction where we got outsmarted because we did not check prices on e-bay and loved it all nonetheless. In short hand a great time.

Now if you ever want to see people in substandard dress go to an auction. You never have seen such a group of "poor boys" and "poor gals". They dress in their Salvation Army rejects. Stained baseball caps with tractor emblems are considered to be formal dress. At least you think they are poor until the bidding begins, and then you realize these people have come with a couple rolls of 100 bills to make sure they get what they want and are pretty savy buyers. A plug of chewin tobacco, a baseball cap and a wad of cash with an opportunity to make a little money or loose a little money. It is like playing the slots sometimes but the apples and oranges are real objects and they spin before your eyes spinning dreams of making a little profit by making a savy buy while the suckers sleep. Your food is a hot dog, moon pie and a Pepsi. And believe me, it ain't the Pepsi generation, but it is a lot of fun.

Hope to use our condo this summer but by and large it has been used by so many relatives on both sides of the family and by friends that we will try to reserve it for some of our own use during the second half of the summer. Plea--Can we have the condo back now? In some cases, they use it we clean it, pay the utilities, taxes, mortgage, etc.

Well off to Aldersgate in KC. Hopefully, I can get my spiritual batteries charged. Probably all around me will agree that they are down. One day at home to get packed and get ready to go. The day we get back Princess Belle goes to Villa Espanol to talk Spanish for a week. I be tellin Brokerbelle why not just send her to Wal-Mart for a week-but Brokerbelle wants her to have a formal education.

Will blog from Aldersgate. Pics from Rockin'B, the Belle and White River will probably be published on my other blog, Everything Branson.
