Joplin MDA Bike Show

It is Saturday night and time for the MDA Bike Show in Joplin, Missouri. Bikes come from all over the 4-State Region. Downtown Joplin on Main Street is roped off and it is time for the bikes to arrive.

The bike show is a precurser to the MDA Ride to Buffalo Run the following Sunday. But Saturday night is the time to show off the bikes, the new tatoos and to strut your stuff.

The bikes are cleaned up and dressed and the people are dressed too, more or less. In biker parlayance, sometimes less is better.

The pinstripped suits go into the closet, and the leathers come out. Looking grimey and skaggy, at this event the skaggier the better.

The capeaux of the day is the do-rag.

The bike that gets the most looks wins. He or she who has the most tatoos also wins.

It is a good time to let it all hang out.

The crowd is festive and loud country music is playing. Friends and fellow riders congregate together.

I have my camera and a few shots are shown above. It is great fun but the crowd is slightly different than the British motoring crowd. HarleyDad likes them both.
