Smitty’s Shindig

Well, HarleyDad snagged himself an invitation to Smitty’s Shindig. Smitty is a professional in Ozarklandia and a member of a local school board. Now despite the fact that Smitty can be comfortable in a suit, he is at most peace with himself when he is wearing his jeans and ball cap and sitting on the back of his tractor.

Smitty has a farm in McDonald County, Ozarklandia where the Shindig was to be held. And held it was. Now it was predicted to rain but Smitty and his family and some of their good friends are prayin’ people and prayed they must-because there was not one drop of rain about.

HarleyDad believing the weather report went out in the 4 wheeler.

The shingdig is held under a large army machinery parachute. In the center is a cauldron of white beans simmering away. To the side is a dug pit for the Pork and tonight the main dish is cooked- in- the- ground pulled pork.

Sitting around is everybody from relatives and cousins of Smitty, people from the office (good people), the School Board President, people from Smitty’s church, some neighbors and some good people from the neighborhood. Some of the guests have brought musical instruments because there is going to be music later.

Pulled pork, white beans, potato salad, salads and scrumptious deserts. They are lopped on HarleyDad’s plate which finally breaths a sigh of relief once HarleyDad has goobled up these delectables.

Good people, good food, good fellowship and good times out in MacDonald County.

The ladies had asked that some of the guests bring digital cameras. Now HarleyDad had his in the car; but is none to good at shootin’ people. But HarleyDad did take a few shots in the area of some things he saw with the help of the Father Himself who made these beautiful things and gave H.D. the eyes to see what was there.
