Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. We even find it in the word "alphabet."
The Alpha was my first sportscar. I had not been driving long and my then girl friend Songbird had a relative that let me drive their Alfa Romeo sports car. I was in the tenth grade and driving this white Alpha with the top down all over New Orleans was a heady experience. Now the owners of the Alpha could not have been in their right minds. But there I was zooming about New Orleans with the top down and my girl friend beside me in the wonderful Alpha Romeo.
It was then that I fell deeply in love. With sportscars, and it is a love that has continued with me all of my life. Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo?
