Some Trust In Chariots
In the Psalms it is written: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord."
Good words. Today, we might write: "Some trust in bank accounts and some in stock portfolios , but we trust in the name of the Lord."
Most of the things we trust in fail. Assets diminish; looks depart; fame is fleeting. Ultimately, we are back to basics. The basics are the name of God, His goodness, His grace, and our need for him to meet our needs.

Shan Tora Tournament Champion
Congratulations to Shan Tora.
Shan Tora, who is a green belt, did extremely well in her Karate Tournament beating out a number of the higher belts, including a number of brown belts and red belts.
First Shan Tora and her brown belt partner participated for the first time in Musical Forms. They came in second.
Then Shan Tora came in First, in non-musical forms (Kata). She next participated in weapons and again got first in a large field of people using the bow staff. Then she went on to fighting where she got first in her class again.
Lastly she competed against all those got first in other divisions and won Tournament Champion.
The talley was three firsts, one second and Grand Tournament Champion.
Were HarleyDad and Brokerbelle pleased? You bet they were.
The girl is a true champion. Why, because she got medals. No. Because she keeps plugging at it. She keeps coming back and does not give up. That is what makes her a champion.
Now if I could just get a bumper sticker or Tee-shirt that says "My daughter is a Karate Honor Student."
