In Switzerland, I changed from my Softtail Deluxe to the Road King Custom.
There is no doubt that the Road King is king of the road, the open road that is. It does fine for cruising through the wide open spaces of Kansas or Texas. However it should come as no surprise to anyone that it is not a mountain bike known for cornering.
In fact my friend Peter from Switzerland was surprised that I was going to see Switzerland on a Harley-Davidson due to the fact that it was such a large bike. Peter was right.
In fact even Harley-Davidson says in some of their publications that if you want a bike that is king of cornering, you should investigate some of the Buells.
My Road King was the largest bike on the mountains. Most of the others were Kawasaki's or Dicatti's. The smaller, more nimble mountain bikes are better for a number of reasons. First they are smaller and lighter. If they go over (and mine did not) they are easier to pick up. And they take the corners better and faster. Believe me, there are a number of corners in the Swiss mountains.
Nonetheless, I had a great time in Switzerland on my Harley-Davidson Road King. It was bright yellow and never got lost in the crowd.
Above are some pictures of the Harley. In only one, will you see me. I road alone. When the pictures were being taken of the Harley, I was generally inside sampling one of the Swiss beers.
The birds do not celebrate Sunday. Geese do not go to church.
I am reminded of Genesis, where it is written that the Sabbath was given unto man. Whether your Sabbath is Saturday or Sunday, it is a gift from God to man. The birds do not get a day off. But man has a day to rest from his work and to remember the gifts of God.
This Sunday was an excellent day to remember the gifts of God.
Above are some pictures I took of dew on the roses. As I took the pictures I remember the religious song ; "I come to the garden alone" . The song says I come to the garden alone "when the dew is still on the roses." The song goes on to say ; "I will walk with Him and talk with Him and make Him my own and the time we share as we are staying there none other has ever known."
Well, I probably got the words of the song wrong, but I got the pictures right.

And so I went to Lindt and Sprungli and noted that they were excellent Chocolatiers since 1845 which, coincidentally, was the year that Texas became a state, which I found to be a wonderful omen of delicious things to come.
And the chocolate was carefully made and very delicious.
And those making Chocolate were closely watched by the Chief of Chefs to make sure that they were using the right ingredients.
And I watched the Swiss making Chocolate
And I drank from the Fountain of Chocolate and became enlightened.
And I ate of the chocolate fondue and drank the Chocolate wine and all became clear. I must follow the Chocolate Road to see the Chocolate side of Switzerland
And the vision spoke to me of dragons and clocks and Harley-Davidson's and that I must be coo-coo to undertake this holy quest to ride all over Switzerland.
And behold, the angel said it to me it is 8:30 and it is time to ride your Harley from Appenzel.
And I viewed the strange clock but could not read it because it was not round and its numbers were not arabic. And the clock was in Appenzel
And I looked at the Holy Clock and it was time and half a time.
And I saw a vision of a Chocolate dragon and was instructed to ride it. But I said "I have a Harley, how can that be?"
And I found the wonderful dragon boat on the lake but lo I did not take the picture but stole it from another.
And the vision instructed me to go to the most holy mountain and yodel and blow my own horn.
