And for HarleyDad and Brokerbelle--Guess who the star of the show was. Yes, it was CHRISTMASBELLE!!!!!! Posted by Picasa

One of the choirs. The choir director is in green and he did a super job. Posted by Picasa

The choir sang to the guests by candlelight. HD was hoping they would not catch fire. A few hot numbers for the guests. Great job, Choir. Posted by Picasa

Yes, the Jester is in charge. Posted by Picasa

No wonder the queen looks unhappy--I think the jester is sitting on the King's Knee. That is known as "foolin' around." Posted by Picasa

The Boar's Head or was it the Bore's head? Posted by Picasa

Yes he got kissed by a bevy of young beauties and the young prince was not happy. Posted by Picasa

The Chamber Choir sang and did they sing well. Posted by Picasa

"Oh, you brute", Christmasbelle said. Posted by Picasa

The troubador could sing and his rapier was as sharp as his witty jibes. Posted by Picasa

Christmasbelle and the Troubador. So why did Christmasbelle curl her hair before the performance?????????? Posted by Picasa

Christmasbelle at conclusion. Wow, am I glad that is over!! Posted by Picasa

Christmasbelle and Madrigal Feast

HD, Brokerbelle met up with the clan of the ImpQueen and went to Nixa High School for the Overprivileged to see the beautiful Christmasbelle play the jester in the Madrigal Feast.

Despite the fact that Christmasbelle played the jester she is no fool, to say the least.

Never has a jester looked so good and never before have we been so proud to have a fool in the family.

ImpQueen's baby prince got kissed by a bevy of buxon babes and he was absolutely mortified. Mr. Monarch sent him to the boy's room (Prince's Privy, so to speak) in order to rid himself of his red symbol of shame. HD tried to get the lasses to kiss him-but he struck out. A picture of the Miffed Young Prince is set forth above.

The food was lackluster, the service was great, the actors were Mahhvelous! and that after all is what we came for.

The singers and choirs were heavenly, well at least we thought they were pretty good. A multitude of pictures mainly of Christmasbelle are set forth above.

A great time was had by all! Would I do it again-you bet I would; however I think some of those Nixa kids are starting to recognize me. Next time I will come in leathers!

The Picture of Table Rock Lake taken by HD and sent to the Emerald Prince Posted by Picasa

Emerald Prince Poem

The Emerald Prince resides in the Emerald Palace. The Emerald Palace is somewhat analagous to Hades. People residing in the Emerald Palace are invisible to the rest of us who live in the normal world; however they are real people with real hopes and dreams.

I sent the Emerald Prince a picture of Table Rock Lake. The picture is shown above. Here is the poem that the Emerald Prince wrote. Can prisoners be poets? Yes, of course they can. The poem is entitled "Morning."

Early in the morning as the day begins to break, I always look at this picture of glorious Table Rock Lake.
As the water gently curls around the little islet's bend, the trees down by the lake shore sway softly in the wind.
The sunrise just beyond the hills produces a gorgeous magental hue, that slowly fades to pink before it turns to blue.
There is a lonesome whispy cloud floating across the sky
that completes this scene of beauty as it passes by.
This awe-inspiring icture melts all my worries away and
makes every morning special, a fine start for my day.

JJ.

A Bruised Reed

A Bruised Reed

Isaiah 42:3 describes the actions of the Messiah. It says : “A bruised reed, he will not break and a smoldering wick, he will not snuff out.”

The Messiah, Jesus Christ, is gentle and kind.

Most of us have been bruised in our lives. We have been hurt and inured by people or events that were out of our control. Sometimes these hurts occur in childhood. We all have these events in our lives. We have been disappointed by people around us, by ourselves or we have been hurt for no apparent reason of our own making.

We respond to these hurts by attempting to control people or controlling our environment. We place ourselves in positions where we hopefully are not hurt again.

Sometimes, we develop personality characteristics that try to protect us. We become outwardly tough or we become secretive and try to blend in with our environment. Other times we are manipulative and try to manipulate other people to protect us. We become risk adverse.

We use physical beauty or physical strength or mental cunning to protect ourselves. And when these characteristics are diminished by life, we become miserable and desperate.

However, if the truth be known, inside most of us is a person who has been wounded, hurt or bruised. But we hide this to those around us because to be hurt appears to be a sign of weakness. Vulnerability is not considered to be a strong suit and often no mercy is given to the wounded.

However, Jesus Christ knows our heart. He knows our weaknesses because He became like us. He has tasted of our griefs and sorrows and was bruised himself for our iniquities.

Isaiah 53:3 describes the Messiah in the following manner: “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering.”

Isaiah 42:3 was quoted by Matthew in Matthew 12:20 when Matthew described how Jesus healed the sick. Sickness wears us down and causes us to be weak. We feel that we are broken and can not stand up to illness. Our wick is smoldering and the flame has almost gone out.

Jesus knows our weaknesses and he does come to us in our hour of need. It is only when our strong personalities have been knocked to the ground do we realize that we can not handle life on our own but that we need assistance from someone that has been there and understands us, someone who will not break us entirely but will deal with us tenderly and kindly.

That person is Jesus Christ.

Change is always difficult.

Sunday we heard a sermon about burying our talents in the ground. HarleyDad and Brokerbelle felt that we had done a fairly good job in burying our talents. We buried them not so much as to keep the talents safe-but to keep ourselves safe. To go along spiritually and to get along. That was our mission and we carried it out.

It looks like the Master of the Talents was not unaware of our actions and although permitting us to do this for a period of time, was no longer tolerant of our actions. So apparently we are no longer permitted to hide in our comfortable Methodist Church.

A change is in the air. We somewhat feel like Jonah felt when he was spewn forth out of the great belly of the fish. We have a whiff of fresh air-but don't especially smell good! But then again that is our own fault. I guess Noah owed a debt of gratitude to the big fish for providing a place to stay and for transportation.

Now it is time to move on.
